Exclusive Night Hawks Interview

The other day Miss Danielle Holland, the visionary of Night Hawks as well as my co-producer, sat down at her laptop. I sat down at my prospective laptop and we had a little iChat. These are the transcripts:

pg5000:* Hi danielle, this is meredith from pudgy-girl.com in los angeles.
DlishMaxiMus: hi meredith.
DlishMaxiMus: where do you live in los angeles?
pg5000: i live in silver lake.
DlishMaxiMus: oh, really? so do i! i live right by the saturday farmers market
pg5000: same here.
DlishMaxiMus: maybe we'll run into each other sometime! we can go get some baby bok choy together. leeks are good too - we could make soup. that reminds me of that song - chop suey! chop suey!
pg5000: sure...i like soup...
DlishMaxiMus: seems i dont know the rest of the words...
pg5000: so. we are REALLY excited about our upcoming special event : Night Hawks.
DlishMaxiMus: oh so am i! i can't wait. i think i have been inspired by birds my whole life.
pg5000: how so?
DlishMaxiMus: well not really, actually not at all, but did you know that night hawks are very sociable birds?
pg5000: I didn't actually.
DlishMaxiMus: they call out to one another in what experts call "speek-speek." This is a language that I myself cannot speak, but have been looking up classes for at the local community colleges. I haven't found any yet, which just proves my point that educational funding is lacking at best. education = tragic @ pointblank. i blame this on the priorities this administration has placed for the country.
DlishMaxiMus: night hawks however, doesnt really have anything to do with birds.
pg5000: could you explain what Night Hawks does have to do with?
DlishMaxiMus: well i could say that its about social experimentation, bridging of communities, collaboration and space for emerging artists, a venue for underheard voices, an invitation to create new paradigms, a creative explosion. but really that is all a cover up for the real purpose.
pg5000: that being?
DlishMaxiMus: oh, just to throw a cool party where hot guys will show up and want to make out with me.
pg5000: That's why I usually do art and throw parties!
pg5000: so, are you originally from la?
DlishMaxiMus: i was born in sin city (Vegas) and i believe thats where my constant seeking out and artistic devotion to vice comes from.
pg5000: Do you go back there often?
DlishMaxiMus: well, its only about 4 hours away by car from here, so whenever i am really broke and want my parents to buy me a meal and to do some laundry i can pop on down. well, thats not true actually. with gas prices being what they are i might as well have been from brazil, i mean, right?
pg5000: Right....
pg5000: What advice would you give to a new producer in los angeles?
DlishMaxiMus: be true to yourself. don't lose sight of your passion and your why.
DlishMaxiMus: allow your mission to grow and develop. dont fear change. get good help. never exploit and always respect.
then you will be respected yourself.
DlishMaxiMus: truth goes a lot further than saying what it is that you think people want to hear. which you will never know anyways. unless you turn into that mel gibson character in that crappy movie he did. but even then, he could only read womens minds. and i am sure that movie was written by men. but he hates on jews so why would you want to be like him anyways?
pg5000: your background is in theatre, right? How did that happen?
DlishMaxiMus: Like every young actor I wasn't given enough attention and love as a child. J/K mom & dad if you're reading this!
pg5000: how did you start to pursue these multimedia projects?
DlishMaxiMus: my focus for the past number of years has been on developing theatre audiences composed of 20/30 "somethings" as they say. i dont believe that theatre should be ostracized as some elite and expensive fine art for old whities. lets make it dirty, lets roughouse, lets explore new formats, lets wake up experimentation, lets make theatre alive dammit.
pg5000: who's your personal hero?
DlishMaxiMus: Barbara. (my mom) and hallie fucking flanagan. look her up.
pg5000: Yes ma'am. ;)
pg5000: What's your favorite word?
DlishMaxiMus: fuck.
DlishMaxiMus: its so expressive, don't you think?
pg5000: Have you always loved producing?
DlishMaxiMus: when i first started i hated it. but it was the only way for an "emerging" director, or even someone who has a strong sense of their own world view to actually put on their projects. through doing it over and over, i have developed a love, passion, and an unfortunate stress related side effect of hives from doin it.
pg5000: Do you have a secret recipe for mayhem? What is it?
DlishMaxiMus: cool artists, great friends, and the wisdom to know the difference.
DlishMaxiMus: cayenne pepper by the way is not actually a spice, but a unit of heat. add heavily.
pg5000: What's the craziest party you've ever thrown?
DlishMaxiMus: i was 16 at the time so i am unsure as to whether i am legally allowed to talk about it. i will check with my laywer and get back to you and your readers.
pg5000: Do you like sticking it to the man?
DlishMaxiMus: LOL. well, i like sticking it to most men. this is hollywood after all.

(* Our real IM screennames have not been used. If you wanna chat, come on down to Night Hawks - next Monday Mar. 19 - Don't bother trying to internet stalk Hallie Flanagan. She died. She doesn't have a myspace page.)

Thank You Pudgy-Girl. I have spoken with my lawyer and he has informed me that for legal reasons I should not speak, write, or do interpretive dances in regards to said party I threw at 16. Sorry!
