When Murals Were Dangerous

David Alfaro Siqueiros, was a prolific artist and activist but only created three murals in the United States, all in Los Angeles during a six-month stay in 1932. Two of his works were censored while the third, less controversial one was moved to Santa Barbara. Thursday evening KPCC's Patt Morrison will moderate a discussion about Siqueiros, his murals, LA history, and public art. This is a public program part of an ongoing speaker series for a future exhibition, Legacy & Legend: Siqueiros & América Tropical Censorship Defied, sponsored by The Los Angeles Times and Washington Mutual. The event is free but there's limited seating. Ensure a reservation by responding to legacy@causeconnect.net no later than Wednesday Nov. 8 Noon. May need to show photo ID at door.
